Advancing Hop Research
Michigan State University Extension provides support for hop growers through research, education, and outreach. Focus areas include:
- Integrated Pest Management
- Promotion of best management practices based in agroecology and sustainable agriculture
- Relationship development and knowledge exchange with university scientists, USDA ARS researchers, and hop producers around the globe to ensure Michigan growers have the most up to date research based information
- Quality control and implantation of food safety protocols based on Hop Quality Group audits
- Facilitating connections with the Michigan brewing industry to promote purchase of Michigan grown hops; and more.
